Ooey Gooey Monster Cookies

Ooey Gooey Monster Cookies

Y’all, the slightest bit of cool weather has moved into Alabama and we are LOVING it! With that comes all the festive feelings and first up is Halloween! Growing up, our family never lived in a neighborhood where we would trick or treat but our church always put on a huge fall festival and we had trunk or treat! I feel like that’s just a church thing. Anyway, our college group is decorating two vehicles for the festival and these cookies make me really want to do a Monsters Inc. theme! It would be perfect! My husband is tall so he could be Sully and little Selah could be Boo! He turned it down though, sad day. Maybe I can talk him into it before Halloween gets here.

So back to what you really care about… Cookies. 🙂 These cookies were soooo good! They were not hard at all either! You can use a white or yellow cake mix. I used white and they were really good though I think when I make them again I’ll try the yellow. It would give it more of a buttery flavor. You know how the South is with their butter!

Ooey Gooey Monster Cookies

Ingredients

1 box Yellow or White Cake Mix

1/2 cup butter softened

1/2 tsp vanilla

8 oz. cream cheese softened

1 egg

food coloring

powdered sugar

candy eyeballs

Instructions

Beat butter, eggs, vanilla, and cream cheese until fluffy

Mix in cake mix. Separate cookie dough into different bowls and add food coloring.

Chill dough for 45 minutes

Roll into balls and coat with powdered sugar

Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. While warm push candy eyes into cookies. Now ENJOY!!

These bad boys went so fast in our house! Plus, they were so easy! It’s a win win!  Let me know if you enjoyed them as much as we did! Happy baking!

Also, check out some of my friends recent Halloween post!
